Benaiah Cusack is an abstract landscape painter whose immersive, mixed-media works evoke a sense of wonder and mystery.  A primarily self-taught artist, supplemented by formal painting studies, he has exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the Indianapolis area from 2012 to 2025.  His artwork is part of the permanent collections at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Eye Institute and Eli Lily & Co.  Benaiah now lives and works in St. Petersburg, Florida, inspired by imagined coastal spaces, ocean light, tropical color, and the rhythm and energy of street art.

“I create my art using a layered, mixed media approach.  My work is driven by intuition and shaped by curiosity. I don't begin with a fixed plan. I follow my imagination, surroundings, reference photos, and let the materials guide themselves.  I work on paper, panel, and canvas, building surfaces with acrylic paint, ink, graphite, crayon and collage. My work explores wonder, mystery, the hint of the cosmic, fantasy, and the desire for escape - inviting the viewer into a sense of space that feels both imagined and familiar.”
